AIR Essential Keyboards – Unified Piano, Organ and Electric Keys Player
€199.00 Original price was: €199.00.€59.99Current price is: €59.99.
AIR Essential Keyboards puts 13 instruments in one unified player — Steinway and Yamaha grands, upright, Rhodes Mark I and II, Wurlitzer, Clavinet, Pianet, tonewheel and church organs, Celeste, Toy Piano and four harpsichords. Built for both studio writing and live performance.
A working composer rarely needs one keyboard sound; a single project can call for a concert grand in the morning, a Rhodes under a vocal at noon and a church organ by the evening session. AIR Essential Keyboards answers that reality by placing 13 instruments inside one unified player, each with its own intuitive interface and presets, so moving between acoustic piano, electric piano, organ and Clavinet does not mean rebuilding a software setup. It comes from the AIR sound-design team behind Mini Grand, DB-33 and Velvet, and it is designed equally for studio production and live performance.
Acoustic Pianos and Colour Instruments
The acoustic side is led by grands based around the Steinway Grand and the Yamaha Grand, providing contrasting flavours for songwriting, performance and production across pop, jazz, classical, R&B, gospel, ballads and film work. A classic Upright Piano covers the smaller, more intimate character suited to indie production, songwriting and cinematic cues where a concert grand would sound too large.
Two colour instruments widen the palette usefully for scoring. The Celeste brings a bright, delicate voice at home in orchestral, cinematic, holiday, ambient and fantasy contexts — available instantly rather than by loading a separate orchestral library. The Toy Piano offers a distinctive texture for children’s music, lo-fi production, experimental writing and sound design, the kind of sound that can define a cue’s identity in a few notes.
Electric Pianos and Clavinet
The electric piano collection covers the classic designs: Rhodes Mark I and Rhodes Mark II for the familiar tine-based character in its two best-known flavours, a Wurlitzer-style instrument with a more aggressive, cutting personality for rock, funk and soul, and the less commonly offered Pianet, which expands the vintage palette beyond the obvious choices. These sounds cover smooth R&B and neo-soul chords, jazz, funk, pop, hip-hop and fusion with equal ease.
For rhythm-driven parts, the Clavinet contributes its sharp, percussive attack — the engine of funk, disco and soul keyboard playing, and an effective layer beneath other keyboards when a part needs definition. In underscore, a muted Clavinet figure can provide pulse without the weight of percussion, while the electric pianos carry harmony with a warmth sampled orchestras often lack.
Organs and Harpsichords
Few sounds are as recognisable as a classic tonewheel organ, and Essential Keyboards includes 20 tonewheel organ presets spanning jazz, rock, blues, gospel, soul, funk and pop styles — without loading a dedicated organ plugin. A Church Organ broadens the collection into classical, worship, cinematic and ceremonial writing, an important colour for composers whose work crosses between contemporary and traditional settings.
Four harpsichord models complete the collection, their plucked attack and historic character serving classical and Baroque-inspired writing, film and game scoring, period productions and experimental pop. Having them inside the same player as the pianos makes stylistic jumps — a period cue followed by a contemporary one — a matter of a preset change.
Performance, Standalone Use and Requirements
AIR designed the collection around playability: presets intended to work across genres and situations, so a player can choose a sound and begin. The standalone application for Mac and Windows supports rehearsal, live gigs, worship performance, teaching and simple playing without opening a DAW, while in the studio the collection serves songwriting speed — finding the right keyboard quickly is often worth more than opening a highly specialised instrument.
Essential Keyboards supports Windows 10 (22H2) and Windows 11 (23H2), and macOS 12 Monterey through macOS 15 Sequoia, with Apple Silicon support, in VST2, VST3, AU and AAX formats plus standalone. Requirements include an Intel Core i5/i7 2.3 GHz class processor, 4 GB RAM with 8 GB recommended, and around 5.49 GB free disk space on Windows or 4.43 GB on macOS; an internet connection is required for authorisation. At €59.99, 70% below the regular €199 price, it is a practical foundation keyboard rig for any composer’s template.
