Orange Tree Samples Kontakt Libraries Bundle – Evolution Guitars, Basses, Banjo and Mandolin
€1,900.00 Original price was: €1,900.00.€49.99Current price is: €49.99.
Twelve deeply sampled stringed instruments for Kontakt, from a hollowbody electric and a gypsy jazz guitar to a 12-string acoustic, clawhammer banjo, mandolin and three basses. Advanced scripting handles fret position, strumming and chord detection so MIDI parts behave like played ones.
The orange tree samples kontakt bundle collects the Evolution series, and its premise is that a sampled guitar only convinces when the playing behaviour is sampled and scripted as carefully as the tone. The electric selection runs wide: Evolution Vintage Gent, a classic hollowbody with a British rock tone; Evolution Strawberry, a versatile electric for pop, funk and rock; Evolution Rock Standard, a legendary single-cut design with a powerful sound; Evolution Infinity, a studio-grade electric aimed at ambient and cinematic textures; and Evolution Baritone Electric, a low-tuned guitar for dark, powerful tones.
The Electric and Acoustic Guitars
Alongside those sit instruments that sampled libraries often neglect. Evolution Django Jazz is a swing-era gypsy jazz guitar inspired by Django Reinhardt, immediately useful for period scoring. Evolution Jumbo 12 is a rich 12-string acoustic with a shimmering tone. Evolution Clawhammer Banjo captures an authentic clawhammer style for traditional Americana, and Evolution Mandolin provides bright, plucky strings for folk and roots music. For composers scoring documentaries, westerns, period drama or anything with a folk thread, those four instruments alone justify attention.
Basses and the Scripting Engine
Three basses are included: Evolution Vintage Violin Bass, a classic short-scale bass with warm vintage tone; Evolution Roundwound Bass, bright and modern; and Evolution Flatwound Bass, smooth and suited to jazz and soul. The contrast between roundwound and flatwound is one real bassists choose deliberately, and having both means a score can move from a contemporary pop cue to a 1960s-flavoured one without changing library.
The source highlights multiple articulations including legato, sustains, mutes, slides, harmonics and chords, plus advanced Kontakt scripting for natural fret positioning, a strumming engine and chord detection, with multi-dynamic layers and round-robin samples. Fret positioning is the detail that matters most: where a phrase is played on the neck changes its tone and its phrasing, and scripting that chooses positions as a guitarist would is what keeps a sequenced part from sounding like a keyboard wearing a guitar sound. Strumming with chord detection similarly turns a held chord shape into a believable performance.
Genres and Scoring Use
The source lists rock, pop, jazz, cinematic, bluegrass, funk and soul, and confirms the libraries are royalty-free for commercial use and suitable for film and game scoring. In practice the bundle excels where a score needs a real instrument’s social meaning: a banjo says a place and a time before a note is analysed, a 12-string says openness, a baritone says threat. Those associations are scoring tools, and they are difficult to synthesise.
Requirements
The full version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or higher is required; the bundle is not compatible with Kontakt Player. It runs on macOS and Windows 10 and 11, needs a minimum of 4GB RAM with 8GB or more recommended, and approximately 50 to 80GB of disk space is recommended for the full installation. Delivery is instant.
Twelve instruments covering electric, acoustic, folk and bass registers, all driven by scripting designed to make sequenced parts feel played. For composers who write guitar-led cues but do not play guitar to session standard, this is the practical answer.
Session guitarists remain the gold standard, but they are not available at midnight before a delivery, nor for every revision a director requests. This bundle closes most of that gap, and it also opens musical territory a single hired player might not cover: few guitarists arrive with a gypsy jazz instrument, a clawhammer banjo, a 12-string, a baritone and three distinct basses in one session. For composers writing across genres, or scoring stories that move between places and periods, that breadth in a single Kontakt collection is genuinely enabling. The parts can be sketched, approved and, in many cases, delivered without ever leaving the sequencer.
