Description

Tracking guitar for a cue used to mean a miked cabinet, a tolerant household and a narrow window of recording time. Line 6 Helix Stadium Native, the plugin edition of Line 6’s flagship Stadium amp and effects platform, removes all three constraints. Built on the HX modelling engine, it recreates the feel, response and character of amplifiers, cabinets and stompboxes directly inside the DAW, so a DI signal recorded quietly at midnight can become a finished, mix-ready tone without re-amping or compromise.

100+ Models on the HX Engine

The library runs to more than 100 amps, cabinets and effects, modelled with the HX engine for the dynamic response guitarists describe as tube feel — the way a note cleans up when you play softly and pushes into breakup when you dig in. Stadium-scale factory presets are voiced for big, wide, record-ready sounds straight from the browser, covering glassy cleans, edge-of-breakup blues tones and modern high-gain walls of sound.

Third-party impulse response support means favourite cabinet captures from other libraries load alongside the built-in models, so an existing personal IR collection keeps its value. For a composer, that breadth translates into casting: the same guitar part can be auditioned as a delicate underscore texture, a confident rock cue or a trailer-scale riff simply by changing the rig around it.

Chains, Splits and Snapshots

Signal-chain building is drag-and-drop and visual. Amps, cabinets, pedals and splits are arranged directly in the interface, making dual-amp rigs, parallel effect paths and stereo cabinet setups — configurations that would take an hour to wire in hardware — a matter of a few clicks. The window resizes to suit the session, and parameters can be assigned to a MIDI controller or to DAW automation in seconds.

Snapshots are the feature scoring work benefits from most. A single preset can hold several complete rig states, switched instantly, so verse, chorus and lead tones — or underscore, swell and hit versions of the same part — morph without loading a new preset or breaking the performance. Combined with full automation of every parameter, guitar parts can evolve across a cue the way an orchestrated line would, following the picture rather than sitting statically beneath it.

Recall and the Long Project

Because the rig lives in the DAW session, it is perfectly recallable. Revisit a project months later — for a sequel, a soundtrack album pass or a director’s late revision — and Helix Stadium Native restores the exact chain: amp settings, pedal order, cabinet and mic choices included. Low-latency performance keeps real-time playing and tracking responsive, so the plugin can be played like an amp during writing rather than only applied afterwards.

No Line 6 hardware is required; the plugin is fully self-contained, and this is the complete version with every amp, cabinet, effect and preset included, nothing cut down or time-limited.

Formats, Requirements and Value

Helix Stadium Native runs on macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon or Intel, and on Windows 10 or later in 64-bit form, in VST3, AU and AAX formats depending on platform, inside any compatible DAW or host. Requirements are 4 GB RAM minimum with 8 GB recommended and 2 GB of free disk space, with an internet connection required for licence delivery and authorisation. Every customer receives an individual licence key by email after checkout. At €79.99, a saving of 89% against the regular €699 price, a stadium’s worth of rigs becomes one of the most cost-effective guitar upgrades a composer can make.

For underscoring, the quiet end of the library deserves mention. Clean and edge-of-breakup presets leave space for dialogue and strings, and because every parameter automates, a rig can thin out under a scene and bloom at its climax without a single patch change — guitar treated as orchestration, not decoration.
